Recently I installed Windows 10 Pro on my sisters HP Compaq dc5800 Small Form Factor PC. The specification of the PC is available in the link below: Originally it came with Windows XP (downgraded from Windows Vista). I decided to install my unused Windows 7 Ultimate licence, then upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro (before the offer for free upgrade to Windows 10 expired). The Windows 10 installed all the hardware's' drivers, except 281e103c&rev02. Do you have any idea where can I get the driver for Windows 10? I tried to google the '281e103c&rev02' keyword, but unfortunately only 3 repated pages appears.
The first one only provide the driver for Windows 7. The second one has too many list and I'm not sure which one to choose.
The third one is not in English (or any other language that I understand ). Please advise where can I get the driver for Windows 10. Thank you and have a nice day. If HP Compaq does not have the driver/s you need and has not supplied them to Microsoft for inclusion in Win10 it may be difficult to find them. The number you give seems to go with the Ethernet Controller on the motherboard. You may have to determine who made the motherboard then check with that manufacturer. It's quite possible there are no drivers available, problem being Vista-compatible drivers may not work with Win10 or with Win8 or Win8.1 due to age.
It's fairly well known that Win10 doesn't play well with all the older computers, does some but doesn't do many more. Does everything otherwise work on the computer with Win10? If so what I'd try is to disable the Ethernet/LAN in the BIOS, get a 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Ethernet card that supports Win10 and plug into the motherboard then install the software if Win10 doesn't pick it up. You may have to get the Low-Profile version of the card, a limit of the SFF/Small Form Factor cases. Or you could get a USB Wi-Fi Dongle. There used to be USB LAN/Ethernet adapters, plug into a USB port and install the software then plug in the Ethernet cable.
