Hi, Sorry for chipping in here but I'm a fan of Shirk's great plugin and my Elgato Netstreams (satellite) are great. In the IPTV thread my post noted that the IPTV plugin is able to take the HTTP streams from the Elgato netstream and play them to some clients. Given that there is huge interest in IPTV I wondered whether there was any value in exploring using that solution for the playback. I know that would exclude the EPG, but there are other sources for EPG data as well as lots of other live streams of TV channels. As a replacement for EyeTV, IPTV is not the answer as essentially the channel list is fairly fixed once setup whilst lots of the IPTV streams are transitory. So perhaps a similar plugin using common code but with a different GUI and preferences?

I fired up Plex along with EyeTV on my Mac Mini with the hope of streaming recorded shows and possibly live TV to my Samsung TV in the other room. Streaming Live TV: I've installed Plex (0.9.11.7) on my Mac Mini and added the EyeContact plugin for live EyeTV streams. I followed the instructions here successfully and the Device Token was added. Using Plex on my Samsung, when I go to 'Live-TV' and select a channel it gives the error: 'There seems to be a problem.

The requested stream could not be found' All the channel options do show up in 'All Channels' list though. What might be the problem? Is there another way to do this? I watched the plugin log and it spits out a bunch of stuff while I navigate to the channel list but it doesn't report anything when I actually click on a channel. Recorded EyeTV files: Also, with Plex I've added a new folder and selected the EyeTV folder where it stores recorded shows. When I browse this folder with Plex, it shows a lot of buffer files from the 'Live TV Buffer.eyetv' file/package that all start with '000000001'. What can be done to hide these from Plex?

I fired up Plex along with EyeTV on my Mac Mini with the hope of streaming recorded shows and possibly live TV to my Samsung TV in the other room. Streaming Live TV: 'There seems to be a problem. The requested stream could not be found' I don't know what changed but it's able to stream live tv now. (from the Mac Mini/eyeTV in my bedroom, over the network, to the Samsung TV (Plex) in my living room) However after a split second of full screen video it jumps to what looks like 4x3 video with black borders on each side, the opposite of letterbox.

(Yes, it's an HD channel, and it does it for all channels) Also the video quality is poor. What can I do to resolve both? I've looked at the Samsung/Plex settings and the one place I found for video quality is set for '12' in both.

I apologize for bumping this up but I am very curious about this plugin. I have not yet setup a plex server but I do have an older mac pro and a Eyetv Hybrid laying around. Ideally I would like to use this plugin to view tv streams from another home, I am not concerned about SD quality or lacking EPG info.

To establish the remote connection I planned on using a VPN connection- unless there is some benefit to using the Plex Pass method. Does this plugin still work with newest PMS version? I am assuming you use EyeTV 3 to control the tv tuner? What version of OS X works best for Plex and this plugin. In terms of clients I currently own an Apple TV3 (getting this to work remotely with the DNS trick might be hard) and a Macbook.

If anyone has tested this with the new AppleTV 4 I'd love to hear from you also. The above line is brilliant. Great awking!

I have spent the day trying to get this plugin to work under 10.13 (High Sierra). I can get the EPG to display on both of my clients (web and Apple TV), but as soon as I select an entry, the plugin crashes.

Nothing will display in the LiveTV list at all. When this happens, the Plex client displays 'This channel is not responding'. I've traced it out in the log file (/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server/PMS Plugin Logs/org.bitspin.plexapp.eyecontact.log), and I can indeed see that it is crashing from what looks to me to be a 'type' error in file 'ServiceCode.pys' in the EyeContact bundle. The problem is. I don't know much more about Python than the name (and the snake). Can somebody with more expertise than me spot the issue? Any help is appreciated!

I have EyeTV Lite installed on my old computer. I'd like to move it over to a new computer. I simply copied over the application bundle and everything under /Library/Application Support/EyeTV, but when I try to start up the application on the new computer, it launches the EyeTV Startup Assistant and asks me for the Activation Key. I bought the EyeTV 8 years ago.

I've long since lost the box, disk, manual, etc. All I have is the software installed on the one computer and the USB dongle. If I launch the EyeTV Startup Assistant on my old computer, it shows me this for my Activation Key: ARYGC-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX How could I figure out what the rest of the Activation Key is, or otherwise transfer it to my new computer? I've looked through Keychain Access. There's nothing mentioning Elgato (name of the company that wrote the software) or EyeTV. There appears to be a SQLite database at /Library/Application Support/EyeTV/EyeTVEPG.db, but when I try opening it with Datum (app I found on the app store), it says the database file is password protected.

I copied over these three files that I found inside of /Library/Preferences: com.elgato.eyetv.devices.plist com.elgato.eyetv.plist com.elgato.eyetv.world.plist Not sure which one of them was the important one, but once I copied those three files over, Setup Assistant stopped asking for my Activation Key, and the application launched properly. Hope this helps someone else in the future, and if not (the product might be too obscure - it's kind of hard to find anything about it online at all, given it was discontinued several years ago), at least it'll help me should I ever want to copy the application to another computer again.
