Portal The Flash Version Game
All my 5 R belong to this! I recommend you look at the control page before gameplay. Decided you'd come on Newgrounds to play some games and kill some time? Here is a game that is not for the weak minded, it'll take all your patience and mental stability to beat this one.
Do you have what it takes? We encourage videos of peoples gameplay be posted on youtube for other players viewing pleasure. Note: This game IS possible to beat. Edit: I have noticed allot of people complaining about the control scheme, off hit tests, double jump reaction, music choice and bad platforms. Which just proves to us that our intention has succeeded.

Edit II: You guys seems to hate games that don't agree with the usual concept of how games work, this isn't an average game. Everything that is in here has been thought out thoroughly. But I guess some people don't like games they can't win unless they actually try.
Rated 1 / 5 stars 2016-10-13 23:36:27 Honestly, given the game's description, I don't know what did I expect. Broken hitboxes, bad controls and glitches aren't a sign of a game that takes patience to beat. They are a sign of lazy programming. Uninspired and poorly placed traps aren't a sign of a challenging platformer, they are a sign of lazy design. And ultimately, placing the blame on the players for not liking the game while hiding behind the shell of the classic argument 'This is supposed to be a hard game!!!' Is a clear sign of a game maker that can't take criticism.
I can name a couple hundreds of games that are much harder than this (Including other fangames of I wanna be the Guy) and nowhere near as broken, so, I'm sorry, but making a hard game doesn't mean making a bad game. So, to sum it up, my reason to give this game such a low rating are the bad controls, the uninspired and poorly placed traps, the lazy design and mainly, the broken hitboxes and the excessive amount of glitches. And if these are all intended, then all the more reason for me to dislike this, it simply means that the maker made a bad game on purpose.
That being said, I chose to give this 1 star instead of 0 because the artist did a nice job, and it would be unfair to not mention it. People find this review helpful!
Flag as abusive. Rated 2.5 / 5 stars 2016-04-09 20:50:53 Before I begin, I would like to introduce who I am. I play fangames of I wanna be the Guy pretty frequently; in other words, all the time (I haven't played a game that isn't a fangame since 2013 lmao).
I love to play a good number of them, seeing what I just said, and I'd say I'm pretty good at them too. I have a lot of patience for things, which helped me get through this game as well. Now, comparing this to a lot of the fangames out there, this is top notch, and back when this was first released, this probably would have been considered really good as well; but then the I Wanna Community's standards changed a lot, and as much as I hate to say this, my standards for a fangame align somewhat closely to what many in the community have. Frankly, I didn't enjoy the game; it wasn't that it was too hard, it wasn't that it was too frustrating. It was just boring. Because of the physics, everything just felt slow, and because you don't turn around completely upon pressing the opposite direction, it does get a little annoying when I die to traps over and over again simply because I couldn't turn around quick enough.
There being no variable jump height also was kind of annoying, but that didn't really matter all that much. The traps at the end of the saves are just dull in my opinion; the traps themselves were pretty unoriginal and just made the saves even duller than they already were.
The difficulty balancing was pretty off; some saves I first tried while the next took me a lot longer than I probably should have taken thanks to everything I've already stated. The visual aspect of this game was alright as a whole. In some areas, I really liked it, while other areas had me wondering just what the maker was thinking (I'm looking at those rooms that probably should have an epilepsy warning plastered on them, like seriously, why?). I also noticed quite a few bugs where I flew straight through spikes, which I found pretty humorous. I even managed to get the 'Do a barrel roll' achievement at least 50 times; because of the large boost you get from exiting some rooms, which that room had, I used that to skip the first air thing because it was annoying, and I used it so much that whenever I reset I would get the achievement again.
I do have to admit, the credits made me chuckle. Anything else I haven't mentioned about the game, I had no beef with; they weren't spectacular, but they weren't awful either, and these things I feel helped to balance this game as being merely average. I had fun on some points, but on others I didn't, and I dislike it when makers focus on everything other than making their games fun. That's all I really have to say about this.
